BACHELOR OF LAWS (LL.B.)

The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at Kisii University provides a strong foundation in legal theory, constitutionalism, statutory interpretation, legal ethics, research, advocacy, and the relationship between law and society. The programme develops students' ability to read legal materials critically, reason from authority, write clearly, and apply legal principles to practical problems in public, private, commercial, and community contexts. Graduates are prepared for professional legal training, public service, private-sector legal work, policy roles, research, and further academic study.

Applicants must satisfy the University's general admission requirements. In addition, applicants should have a KCSE mean grade of C+ (Plus) with at least B (Plain) in English or Kiswahili, or at least three principal passes in KACE, or hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university. Equivalent and alternative entry pathways are considered in accordance with University and professional regulatory requirements.

Graduates may pursue careers as advocates after completing the required postgraduate professional training and admission process, legal officers, judicial officers, prosecutors, legal researchers, compliance officers, policy analysts, corporate legal assistants, human rights officers, governance officers, legal consultants, public administrators, or academics. Opportunities exist in law firms, courts, government agencies, county governments, corporations, banks, civil society organisations, international organisations, research institutions, and further postgraduate study.
